After years of discussion, our library renovation is getting underway. Here’s info on what’s coming up:

August 22 (Monday): There will be an informational community meeting in the Takoma Park Community Center auditorium from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is where you will have an opportunity to have your questions answered.

August 24 (Wednesday): This will be the last day that the library will be open before construction begins. After this date, the collection will be moved to temporary quarters, the location of which will be announced soon.

October 3: This is the target date for opening library services at the temporary location.

April 2024: This is the target construction completion month, and the reopening of the new library.

During the time the library is closed while relocating to the new space, checked out items will automatically be renewed; you will not be fined. The book drop will not be available; please keep your books until the temporary space opens. Online resources will continue to be available.
