The Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library fall book sale will take place October 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the front yard of the library. (If raining, the sale will be held in the Community Center.) Donations are now being accepted, and you may drop off your books at the library. If you have more than three cartons of books, please call the library in advance at (301) 891-7259. Donated books should be in very good condition, and be of general interest.
Proceeds from the book sale go to support programs at the library—such as Spanish and French Circle Times, SummerQuest, book clubs, and author appearances. The book sale is an excellent place to find a deal for books for children and adults!
We are looking for volunteers to help set up, staff the sales table, and clean up at the end of the day. If you think you can help out, please contact Francis Nugent at fjnugent@gmail.com.
