On March 1, The Magmatics, a funk rock band from Washington, DC, will headline a fundraiser for the Friends of the Library. The band will play at the VFW in Hell’s Bottom, 6420 Orchard Ave, Takoma Park. The band played at a fundraiser last year, opening for the Airport 77s. That fundraiser — which included a raffle for goods and services donated by local businesses — raised about $2,000 for library programs, and it was a good time for those who attended. On March 1, we will be giving away more prizes from local businesses, and it will again be a fun time for library supporters.
