Our first Fixit Clinic, in March, was a success. With our group of 10 volunteers, we were able to coach 25 people who brought their broken items to the library to have one of our Fixit Coaches talk them through assessment and repair of their broken item. Small appliance, electronics, a cane seat chair, and even a giant teddy bear were brought in for repair. About 90 percent of what was brought to the library was ultimately fixable, and thus kept out of landfill.
If you have broken items that would you would like to fix, we are having another Fixit Clinic on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Libraryās temporary location at 7505 New Hampshire Ave.
