Radio with Eric Bond: On our regular 4th Sunday of the month radio show with Eric Bond, on March 25, 2018 at 1 pm, we’ll highlight the library’s graphic book collection with librarian Dave Burbank and NPR’s Petra Mayer.

Annual Meeting: The Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, March 27, at 7:30 PM at the library. This year’s speaker will be Lisa Page, author of We Wear the Mask. Members will elect the board. Join the Friends and vote for the board!

Great Big Book Club: The next meeting of the Great Big Book Club will be Wednesday, March 28, at the Takoma Park Community Center. The club will meet again on April 11 and April 25 (Wednesday evenings, at 7:30 p.m.) The book for this spring is Kristin Lavransdatter by Sigrid Undset. On March 13, the book’s translator, Tiina Nunnally spoke to the group. The Big Book Club is facilitated by Phil Schewe, pschewe@umd.edu.

Bimonthly Book Club: Please join the Friends Bimonthly Book Club for a discussion of A Place on Earth by Wendell Berry on Tuesday April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Azalea Room of the Community Center. The book describes the lives of the families in Berry’s fictional Port William, Kentucky from March to August 1945. Copies are available in the Library. Favorite Poem Evening: The Favorite Poem Evening will be held Tuesday, April 24th, at 7:30 in the Library.While everyone is welcome to drop-in, you can send the title of the poem you will read to library director, Ellen Robbins (ellenr@takomaparkmd.gov) so that it can be included in the evening’s program.

Next Book Sale:  The Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library Spring Book sale will be May 12 from 10 to 3 on the library lawn. The library is now accepting donations. Bring your donations to the library. If you have a large quantity (more than a box) please call the library first ((301) 891-7259).
